Dear Colleagues,
As initially planned, in the first half of 2015, WCAA organized three events at conferences of the WCAA member associations. They took place at the: AAI meeting in Cork, Ireland (March), CASCA meeting in Quebec City, Canada (May), and SIEF Conference in Zagreb, Croatia (June).
At the AAI meeting, David Shankland, RAI, gave a talk entitled „Anthropology and Its Institutions: The Royal Anthropological Institute”. This plenary session was chaired by Chandana Mathur (National U. of Ireland, Maynooth).

At the CASCA meeting, Lorne Holyoak organized a WCAA roundtable entitled „The Global Practice of Anthropology” with 6 participants. The participants were Noel Salazar (U. of Leuven), Noel Dyck (Simon Fraser U.), Deirdre Meintel (U. of Montreal), Marie-Francoise Guedon (U. Ottawa), Monica Heller (U. of Toronto), and Lorne Holyoak. The discussion was based on the question: What is your experience in anthropology globally, and how is that experience reflected in your own practice?
At the SIEF conference, Vesna Vucinic Neskovic and Klaus Roth organized a WCAA panel „Is there a Sense of Community Uniting Anthropology, Ethnology and Folklore Today?” with 5 papers, given by Vesna Vucinic Neskovic and Klaus Roth (U. of Belgrade, and Institute of European Ethnology in Munich), Michael Vimont (U. of Oxford), Ignacio Fernandez de Mata (U. of Burgos), Vassiliki Chryssanthopolou (National and Capodistrian University of Athens), and Laurent Fournier (U. of Nantes).

As you may have noticed, the participants of the WCAA sponsored panels were the WCAA international delegates, but also members of the host and other associations. All the WCAA panels were well attended and invited interesting discussions. We are very grateful to our colleagues in the three hosting associations, AAI, CASCA, and SIEF, esp. to their presidents and executive committee members, for the opportunity given to WCAA to be present at their meetings.
